Dance Technique & Modern Dance Repertory
Born in France, Manuel Vignoulle studied at The Conservatoire National Supérieur de Danse de Paris and went on to work with contemporary French choreographers including Claude Brumachon, Corinne Lanselle, Karine Saporta and Bernardo Montet. Manuel worked with Redha, a modern-jazz choreographer, and has performed for television, video, fashion, opera and musicals. He has also been assistant choreographer in collaboration with Alvin Ailey (USA), Het Nationale Ballet (Nederlands) and State Theater Dance Company (South Africa). In recent years, Manuel danced for Ballet du Grand Théatre de Genève (Switzerland) which was named best European Ballet Company in 2006. There he worked with choreographers such as Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Adonis Foniadakis, Cisco Aznar, Annabelle Ochoa Lopez, Carolyn Carlson, Benjamin Millepied, Malou Airaudo among others. At Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet (New York) he has performed works by Ohad Naharin, Hofesh Shechter, Didy Veldman, Jo Stromgren, Alexander Eckman and Benoit-Swan Pouffer.
Manuel is currently a freelance choreographer performing his own work in Switzerland (Antigel Festival 2012, Tanzfaktor Interregio 2011 and at Geneva Opera House), in France (Theatre Charles Dullin), in New York (The Latin Choreographers Festival 2012, New York City Center studio, Dixon Place, French and Filipino Embassies, Secret Robot Project and for « Artist emerging from the earth ») and Montreal (Springboard 2012).
Meghan Frederick is a dancer, Pilates instructor, dance teacher and choreographer based in New York City. Meghan graduated from Hampshire College with a self-designed degree in Dance and Cultural Studies in 2007. Since then she has had the pleasure of dancing with Nicole Wolcott, Artichoke Dance Company, Vabang Dance Company, Tze Chun Dance Company, Elisa Davis, and Alexis Liston. She has been performing and touring nationally and internationally with Brian Brooks Moving Company since 2008 and serves as dancer representative for the company. Meghan’s choreography has been shown in New York at Dixon Place, The Wild Project through Electric Pear Productions, Dance New Amsterdam and Greenspace. Meghan is certified in Pilates through Ellie Herman Studios, and now sees clients in Brooklyn. She is thrilled to be teaching dance in New York City at Dance New Amsterdam as a Modern Guest Artist and at HundredGrand Soho.
Kate Martel grew up in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Currently based in Brooklyn, NY, she has danced in NYC since 2002. A member of Laura Peterson Choreography since 2007, Kate has also performed dances by Luis Lara Malvacias, Juliette Mapp, David Hurwith, Sarah White-Ayon and Nora Stephens. Abandoned classrooms, rooftops, blackbox theaters, churches and lofts have been homes to her choreographic experiments (St. Cecilia’s, Rooftop Dance, Dixon Place, Women in Motion and Movement Research at Judson Church). She has taught nationally, internationally and is currently on faculty at Western Connecticut State University. Having earned her B.A. in Dance from Goucher College, Kate is pursuing her M.F.A. at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She is also participating in the Alexander Technique Teacher Training Course at Balance Arts Center. This year, Kate will perform at the Kennedy Center with Laura Peterson Choreography and will teach and perform at ACDF as part of the trio collective Pigeon Congress.
