Many thanks to all students, faculty and staff for your assistance in making our NASD site-visit a huge success! I appreciate everyone’s effort and generosity in guiding our guests through our programs and spaces. I am glad we were able to share our vibrant and exciting dance community with others in the field of dance.

Randy was honored with a 2014 Choreography Fellowship from the NJ State Council on the Arts. This is his thirs Choreographic Fellowship from NJSCA. The next performance of Randy’s company, 10 Hairy Legs, will be on March 8, 2014 at the New Jersey Moves Festival.

There will be successful entrepreneurs who have all grossed over 1 million dollars per year in various businesses, created hundreds of jobs and have come together with the sole purpose of helping you learn keys to reaching the same success and insight on how to do it yourself. AUDITIONS AND JOB OPPORTUNITIES
BalaSole Dance Company
Tim Martin of Dance Europe Magazine called BalaSole Dance Company a “hybrid creature” and described it as “part dance company and part showcase for aspiring dancer/choreographers.” Stephanie Deere of Broadway World called the company’s “emphasis on the creative process extremely refreshing.” Linda Diamond of ENV Magazine stated, “this interactive collaboration of independent thinkers has not been seen since the 1980’s in the New York dance scene.” Philip Gardner of Oberon’s Grove described the company “as a unique venture in the contemporary New York dance scene.”
Since 2010, the company has held eleven concert seasons featuring 100 dance artists performing solo pieces ranging from experimental, postmodern, ballet, contemporary, hip-hop, flamenco, tap to African dance. These artists have performed in works by renowned choreographers, including Martha Graham, Lar Lubovitch, Robert Battle, Merce Cunningham, Jose Limon, Mark Morris, Elisa King, Chuck Davis, Doug Elkins, Milton Myers, Dwight Rhoden, Gregory Hines, Savion Glover and Jimmy Slyde.
BalaSole Dance Company’s roster includes artists from renowned companies such Limón Dance Company, Metropolitan Opera Ballet, Parsons Dance, Lucinda Childs Dance, Sokolow Theatre/Dance Ensemble, Philadanco, The Isadora Duncan Dance Company, Tulsa Ballet, as well as students/graduates from The Juilliard School, New York University, SUNY Purchase, The Boston Conservatory, Columbia University, Harvard University, Howard University, Long Island University, Rutgers University, University at Buffalo, Muhlenberg College, North Carolina University, East Carolina University, Virginia Commonwealth University, Marymount Manhattan College, University of the Arts, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, George Mason University, and University of Oklahoma.
CHOREOGRAPHY COMPETITION – NYC
The Valentina Kozlova International Contemporary Dance and Choreography Competition (first edition) is open to all ages in the categories of Solos, Duets, Groups and Choreography.It’s a wonderful opportunity for dancers to perform and/or present their work along with other dancers and choreographers from around the world before a distinguished panel of judges. Judges for the panel include: Andris Liepa, Tracy Inman, Nina Buisson,Virginie Victoire Mécène, Igal Perry, Patricia Aulestia (de Alba), Jelco Yuresha, Jeon Mi Sook, Charles Askegard, Wendy Perron, Margo Sappington, Risa Steinberg and Septime Webre.Selected competitors will be invited to perform/present pieces at the evening gala on April 29, 2014 following the award ceremony where prizes will include such opportunities as: scholarships, workshops, the commission for a new work in Argentina, and an invitation to the choreographer of the winning piece to have that piece rehearsed, staged and presented by dancers of the Compania Nacional de Danze Mexico.
