BFA dance major Christian Lopez’s choreography Prevailing Beauty was selected to represent the Northeast region at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. as part of the national American College Dance Festival on June 4-7, 2014.
Congratulations to Christian and all his dancers, as well as Jacqueline Reid for her lighting design.
.
Congratulations to BFA senior Donna DeCotiis for her acceptance into the graduate program for Dance/Movement Therapy within the Creative Arts Therapy Department at Columbia College Chicago! As a very competitive program, accepting only 18 out of over 60 applicants each year and is accredited by the American Dance Therapy Association. Donna plans on continuing dancing while in Chicago and after graduation would like to work with children recovering from trauma, children with learning disabilities (down syndrome, autism, etc), and/or victims of domestic abuse and violence. Dance therapists are frequently hired in hospitals, rehabilitation centers, nursing homes, day cares, schools, and Donna hopes to help as many people as she can through the beauty of dance as an art. Congratulations again, Donna and all best wishes!
