ATTENTION STUDENTS, FACULTY AND STAFF
The Dance Department will be hosting award-winning choreographer Liz Lerman on April 15th for a guest lecture and book signing.
Liz Lerman has been the recipient of numerous honors, including a 2002 MacArthur “Genius Grant” Fellowship, a 2011 United States Artists Ford Fellowship in Dance, and the 2014 Dance/USA Honor Award. Her work has been commissioned by Harvard Law School, the Lincoln Center, American Dance Festival, and the Kennedy Center among many others. Liz is the author of three books: Hiking the Horizontal: A Field Guide for Choreographers(2011), Critical Response Process (2003) and Teaching Dance to Senior Adults (1984).

DANCE & PARKINSON’S CLASSES
Production Hours Available!
The Dance Department has created a new series of movement class for people with Parkinson’s Disease. The classes are free and drop-ins are welcome.
Class is taught by certified teacher David Tamaki, from the NJ Ballet.
The class schedule includes both Wednesday and Saturdays. So far, the Wednesday classes have been well-attended at the downtown Fitness Center.
SATURDAY CLASSES STARTED ON MARCH 28
Classes continue on SATURDAYS, April 4, 18; May 2, 9, 16, 23, 30; June 6
TIME: 11:00 am- Noon
The department is looking for student assistants
YOUR JOBS ARE:
- Arrive around 10:30 am at Studio 110
- Help set up about 15-20 chairs in a circle
- Help sign up anyone who is new with a waiver form (note: as a Rutgers student, you will need to sign a waiver form yourself)
- Help sign up anyone who needs a parking permit
- Take the class; learn something new about adaptive movement!
- During class, help anyone in class move a chair or if they look fragile
- After class, help breakdown the chairs and set them back up on the storage cart
- Clean the room of any trash; finish by about 12:30 pm

UPCOMING FACULTY PERFORMANCES
Go see Chien-Ying Wang’s newly commissioned work for the Lustig Dance Theatre, presented in the Theatre at Raritan Valley Community College on Saturday, April 11th, 8 p.m.
The concert will feature live music by The Rutgers Children’s Choir, The Cantabile Chamber Chorale, and The Church of Incarnation. http://lustigdancetheatre.org/
