Congratulations on a wonderful DancePlus! We have had an incredible year of creativity, performance and production – kudos to all choreographers, dancers, and technicians!
Looking forward to seeing everyone at Dance Assembly on April 29 so we can see showings from Rhythm for Dancers, Choreo 1 classes and Advanced Rhythm and Drumming. We will also announce student awards that day – see you then!!!
CHANGES TO MAY 1ST ROTATION SCHEDULE
Blair Ritchie will not teach Rotation on May 1st as most of her students are scheduled for end-of-semester meetings. On May 1st, the following students from Blair’s class will take Gaga rotation with the sophomore class:
Alexis Palasiciano and Lindsey Silvera will not take Gaga and will attend their end-of-semester meeting on Friday, May 1st.
Otherwise – all other rotation classes should proceed as scheduled on Friday, May 1st with all other students. Thank you.
YOGA TEACHER TRAINING CERTIFICATION AVAILABLE THIS SUMMER!
The Dance Department of Mason Gross School of the Arts, in cooperation with Rutgers Recreation Services, is now offering 200-Hour Vinyasa Yoga Registered Teacher Training and Certification via the OM Factory Yoga Center, NYC this summer from June 15- July 17, 2015. CURRENT STUDENT KUDOS
Congratulations to 2nd year BFA major Anna Gichan who is the recipient of a study in Israel award from the Department of Jewish Studies and The Allen and Joan Bildner Center for the Study of Jewish Life! Anna is off to Israel next year to study as part of the DanceJerusalem program. Kudos to Anna and all best for an exciting year!
Graduate Students Co-Present at NDEO Conference
EdM Dance Education students, Brittany Barnwell and Gabriella Meiterman Rodriguez, co-presented a session about the new National Core Arts Standards with Dr. Barbara Bashaw at the National Dance Education Organization special topics conference in Baltimore, MD on April 18. They also assisted two sessions co-instructed by Dr. Bashaw, Dr. Rima Faber (founder of NDEO) and Joan Finkelstein (Director of the Harkness Foundation and former Director of Dance for the NYC DOE). Bashaw, Faber and Finkelstein are three of the members of the National Coalition of Core Arts Standards task force who developed the new standards and are now touring the US to provide professional development supported by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.
