PROFESSIONAL OPPORTUNITIES & INTENSIVES
Shen Wei Dance Arts Winter Intensive
January 3-7, 2017 in New York City at their new studio, located in a historic landmark building on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. This five-day workshop will be jam-packed, offering in-depth technique (2+ hours) and repertory classes (3 hours), as well as workshops in improvisation/invention, performance concepts/qualities, partnering, and yoga/body work. Unlike many intensives, we keep the numbers low in order to offer students a more personal experience. Classes run from 10 am to 6 pm daily, with optional activities scheduled every evening!
This year we are offering discounted tuition for Early Bird registrants. (Tuition just $475!)

KATE WEARE COMPANY
Study partnering with the dancers of Kate Weare Company!
Shared-Axis Partnering cultivates the strength of a solo dancer’s center while exploring the shared and/or displaced space between two partners. Derived from social dancing, KWCo has developed a partnering technique that is surprising and challenging for contemporary dancers used to dancing solo. Sharing the central axis with one’s partner develops clarity of balance and intent, and offers a fascinating metaphor for communication in relationship. Based around a shared spirit of investigation into space, the class is entirely unisex, incredibly fun, and brings dancers into closer collaboration the way only good partnering can!
