PS Dance! Film Screening

BFA, EdM, Faculty & Staff Reminder: Dance Assembly will meet on Wednesday 3/29 (this week) 12:30 pm in the VJM Theater for a special screening of the Emmy nominated film, PS Dance! BFA attendance will be taken in the VJM lobby. Refreshments will be served. Students who do not need to leave for a class at 1:55 may stay for a talk-back. Special Guests: Producer: Jody Arnhold, Director: Nel Shelby, Film Consultant: Joan Finkelstein.

Guest Bios
Jody Arnhold, Producer is a dance education visionary with 25 years of experience teaching dance in the NYC public schools. Founder of the Dance Education Laboratory at the Harkness Dance Center, she is also the honorary chair of the acclaimed dance company, Ballet Hispanico. As a passionate advocate for dance and dance education, she sits on the board of multiple, prestigious arts organizations and has been recognized by Lincoln Center and NDEO.
Nel Shelby preserves and promotes dance by filming performances and creating marketing videos and original films. Neil Shelby Productions, based in NYC, boast a diverse list of dance clients. Nel serves as Festival Videographer for Jacob’s Pillow Dance and is Resident Videographer at the Vail International Dance Festival.
Joan Finkelstein is the Executive Director of the Harkness Foundation for dance. She performed professionally through the U.S. and Europe with the Cliff Keuter, Don Redlich, and Jean-Leon Destine Afro-Caribbean dance companies and was in the original cast in RAGS on Broadway. Former director of the Harkness Dance Center, she also served as the Director of Dance for the New York City Department of Education from 2004 – 2014.
