Reminders
On-Campus Meningitis B Vaccination Clinics – All Students
The university will host on-campus vaccination clinics during April and May. In April, the vaccination clinics will run from 12-8 p.m. at the following dates and locations:
- Tuesday, April 2: College Avenue Student Center
- Wednesday, April 3: College Avenue Gym
- Monday, April 8: Livingston Student Center
- Tuesday, April 9: Cook Student Center
Students can also visit their local healthcare provider or pharmacy, or make an appointment with Rutgers Student Health (by calling 848-732-7402 or visiting nbstudenthealthportal.rutgers.edu). If students are unsure of their MenB vaccination status, students should check with their primary health provider or the Rutgers Immunization Portal. Learn more here.
Class Registration – Fall 2019
Pre-Registration for the Fall 2019 semester begins on Sunday, April 7th at 10:00 pm and continues through Friday, April 19th. Pre-Registration continues online and in person at our new College Ave office: Records Hall, 620 George Street, College Ave Campus, Monday, April 22th through Friday, August 30st, 2019.
Apply to be a Student Residence Coordinator
The Rutgers University Inn and Conference Center is currently accepting applications for student Residence Coordinator (RC) positions. RCs provide front desk coverage on a rotating basis and support services to overnight guests, conference attendees, and meeting organizers. Compensation includes free housing and a stipend. Rutgers Summer Session
The schedule of classes for the Summer 2019 term is now available. Choose from more than 2,500 courses in a wide range of subjects, offered in-person, online, or at off-campus locations throughout the state. Make progress towards graduation, improve a GPA, or fulfill a prerequisite this summer. Start planning schedules now and register beginning on February 18. Learn more here

Countdown to Commencement 2019
University Diploma Application
Undergraduate students who anticipate completing May 2019 degree requirements must apply for graduation by submitting a diploma application online. Please contact the Undergraduate Registrar’s Office at 848-445-2757 and ask for Monica Licourt or Michael Rusen, or email diplomas@registrar.rutgers.edu with any concerns about a diploma application. Please note that completion of a diploma application does not imply that graduation requirements have been met.
University Commencement Parking Hangtag
University Commencement will take place on Sunday, May 19, 2019, at HighPoint.com Stadium on the Busch Campus. With more than 50,000 people expected on campuses in Piscataway and New Brunswick, parking on campus will be limited. Therefore, graduating students must register to receive up to two free parking hangtags for themselves and their families or guests. Registration for special-needs parking hangtags and for non-special-needs tags is now open. Learn more here.

Summer 2019 Opportunities
American Ballet Theatre
American Ballet Theatre is now looking for passionate college Dance or Dance Education majors to work as day/residential counselors in our New York and California Summer Intensive Sites!
Counselors needed for our 5-week New York program will be day counselors only, with responsibilities Monday – Friday (possibly one Saturday commitment) 8:30am to 5:30pm daily and compensated with a $200 per week stipend and the opportunity to take class.
Counselors in our 3-week California program will be residential counselors, living in the dorms with the students and accompanying them on weekend activities with staff members. These counselors are compensated with provided room/board, meal cards, one stipend of $1200, and the opportunity to take classes.

VIM VIGOR Summer Program
VIM VIGOR have some fabulous guests: Victoria P. Miranda from Spain, who is a sensational contemporary teacher and we are bringing back Ben Mehl, an actor and teacher (NYU MFA grad and professor) who made a huge impact on our participants this winter. And of course, VIM’s company members will be sharing classes and workshops dedicated to contemporary movement, partnering, improvisation, and dance theater methodology.

The Balance Arts Center in New York City is now offering internships. The BAC is a vibrant center focused on the teaching and application of the Alexander Technique. Our goal is to provide a balanced experience for college-aged students in:

Houston Ballet Academy is Hiring: Summer Chaperone Position
Houston Ballet Academy is looking for self-motivated, responsible individuals to fill Summer Chaperone positions for its 2019 Summer Intensive.
Over 300 students from all over the world attend Houston Ballet’s Summer Intensive every year. We host more than 150 students in off-campus, dormitory housing. We need your help to provide these dedicated students with a safe, fun living environment for 6 weeks. Dorm students will range from ages 12 to 17. Chaperones will be required to drive a 15 passenger van.
The program runs from June 17-July 27. Move-in day for chaperones is Thursday, June 13. Move-out day for chaperones is Saturday evening, July 27.
We are seeking to hire 1 Lead Chaperone, 1 Assistant Lead Chaperone and 8 Chaperones.
Qualified individuals, ages 21+, need to have a passion for working with students, a drive to provide excellent service, and an attitude of positivity and enthusiasm. Please apply online at Houstonballet.org (HERE).

Rutgers Student Health
BFA, MFA, EdM, BFA, BA majors and Dance Minors are invited to sign up for free Pilates Reformer small group sessions in the Dance Department Soma Center. Students can sign up for a once-a-week, hour-long session. Sessions are available Wednesdays 4-7 pm and Thursdays 3-5 pm, and begin on Wednesday, March 27th. The sign-up sheet for the second half of Spring semester is posted outside the Soma Center, and sign-up is on a first-come basis. Reformer classes are a wonderful opportunity to supplement your dance training, so please take advantage of this opportunity if your schedule permits.

Uumbal
Úumbal is an exercise in meeting, recognizing, and celebrating a community gathered for the joy of movement, exploring new ways of moving through public space. Úumbal is developed of, by, and for Philadelphia residents with lead artist Mariana Arteaga to create a choreography that is representative of a collective. The project consists of three stages, culminating with Úumbal participants dancing the choreography through the streets of Philadelphia. The Step Library is the first of three stages of Úumbal’s development, where the foundation of Úumbal’s ultimate choreography is collected.
